Round two of this year’s IRC takes place on the Rally Portugal, which is based in the Algarve city of Faro. The rally also contains the most impressive entry list yet to be seen on an IRC event, with former World Champion Didier Auriol amongst the leading entries and two-time World Champion Marcus Gronholm driving the zero car. |

Op de vooravond van de start van de tweede uitgave van de Ford RACB Rally Contest, waarvoor 73 aspirant-kampioenen zich zaterdag 23 februari zullen aanmelden, maken Ford en RACB bekend dat zij de handen in mekaar slaan om Anthony Martin tijdens het weekend van 15, 16 en 17 augustus aan de start te brengen van de Deutschland Rally, de tiende manche van het Wereldkampioenschap Rally. |

Frenchman Nicolas Vouilloz, the winner of three rounds of the IRC last season in Turkey, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, has signed a deal with Peugeot Belgium to drive a Peugeot 207 S2000 on the 2008 series. |

The IRC will host a two-wheel drive cup this season, in order to reward participants who choose to compete on the series in two-wheel drive cars.This initiative has come about to provide greater recognition for manufacturers of two-wheel drive cars within the IRC series, some of whom already compete with a Super 2000 car. |

The opening day of the Swedish Rally has been high on drama and excitement. Jari-Matti Latvala, Ford’s number two, produced a stellar performance to win all six of the traditional forest speed tests in his Ford Focus and build an overnight lead of 48.2sec. His team-mate Mikko Hirvonen is second, followed by the Fords of Henning Solberg and Gigi Galli. |
